With a little over a week to go until our event at SupaNova, we've got a bunch of announcements to make for the event!

First but certainly not least, the tournament timetable for the event has been released!
  • Sat 12:00 - Audio Surf
  • Sat 14:00 - Call of Duty 4 FFA
  • Sat 18:00 - Trackmania Nations
  • Sat 20:00 - WarCraft 3 DoTA
  • Sun 00:00 - Guitar Hero
  • Sun 00:00 - Quake 3 Endurance
  • Sun 02:00 - Halo 3
  • Sun 06:00 - Super Smash Bros
  • Sun 08:00 - Unreal Tournament 3 FFA
In order to make sure competitions run as smoothly as possible, and to make sure we can give everyone awesome prizes - all the tournaments at this event will promote a single winner!

Prizes for the event are being provided by our generous sponsors over at Direct Fusion Technologies, Thermaltake, Anyware Computer Accessories, Cyber Snipa, Crucial Memory, TP-Link and Logitech!

Additionally, we've taken your feedback from the last SupaNova event and are currently working with the staff there to ensure that snacks throughout the day will be available to LAN patrons without requiring entry to the expo, and at a reasonable price.

For those who do want to visit the SupaNova Pop Culture Expo - we've also negotiated a cheaper entry price for only $10 for WALAN patrons!

If you haven't already registered and prepaid for the event, make sure you do so immediately to secure your seat. At around only $1 per hour of gaming fun - you can't afford to miss out!

http://register.walan.org/

We look forward to seeing you there!

When you kill 6 people in Unreal Tournament 3 it's "Monster kill", In Quake III it's "Excellent", in Counter-Strike Source it's "Kicked by console".

All the comps at the supanova event will eventually lead to 1 winner, so Halo3 will be free for all.

Yes you do. It's reccomended that you bring the console, additional controllers, the screen you are USED to playing on (ie, tv, etc) as well as your home theatre system do make sure you perform at your best. It's a very serious competition here at WA-lan and if you can't cut the cake, Don't play with knives. Unless it's an icecream cake in which case go all in with a fucking massive spoon and eat that shit till your heart is content. Then you'll not even care about halo anymore and realise that you're asking probably silly questions. For a serious answer there should be consoles provided and if you're nice enough to Pia she might even give you one at the end if you're lucky!

Hello,

I prepaid for my account under usernames Josh and ArchAngel using the same account (commonwealth bank) and wondering if I could get an update, like if the money hasn't gone through or something as I would really like for the prepay to go through.

Also, is the $10 to access supanova on the day?

Prepays are processed manually, I will poke the people that check our accounts for you.

And yes, $10 is a special discounted entry to supanova on the day once you have checked in at walan =)

Also, as already mentioned, use some common sense. Don't go out, get drunk. then come back, because I'm pretty sure you'll be turfed out on your ass pretty quickly by PCEC staff.

Considering that RFLAN, WALAN & Supanova are all happening on the same weekend. :(

Atleast I can go to Supanova AND WALAN!

Also, how do I find WALAN amongst the showgrounds? Will there be a map posted, or signs or something?

Also, last time getting the car nice and close to move our gear was pretty difficult - we conned Billy into helping. Is it going to be near any parking that isn't full? It takes a few trips.....

Walan is INSIDE supanova.. Well you could say that.. Technically its partitioned off but you really cant miss the LAN, It will be on the opposite side of the entry to Supanova (Or the other side of the hall/further away from the chairlift entry.)

Walan is INSIDE supanova.. Well you could say that.. Technically its partitioned off but you really cant miss the LAN, It will be on the opposite side of the entry to Supanova (Or the other side of the hall/further away from the chairlift entry.)

Alright thanks, I conned my friend into driving instead of me ( ), and he has a small barina so I'm sure if I stick a SUPANOVA sticker on it we can drive straight through.

Seriously though, we'll probably wonder up without our PC's and find out where WALAN is, then come back and do a couple of trips for Desktops + Monitors.

Actually we are doing it WITH SupaNova, And that was deliberate :)

Supanova is a huge pop/culture expo and we wanted to be there.

We allow spectators in free of charge. All Lanners are issued with Armbands so we know whos who.
