Herb Graham was an excellent location for us, even if we weren't allowed to open our own kiosk. Unfortunately, with the management of the premises changing hands, organising an event with them has become increasingly difficult.
HGRC is still definitely on the table, but at this point in time it's not a high likelihood.
By the way people, if you have an idea of somewhere we could potentially hold an event, post it up here! We've got an entire folder dedicated to known potential locations but very few of them manage to cope with our Power requirements. With that all being said, we're keen to investigate any and all new possibilities

just curious though, how likely these dates are to change, if they will at all...
like are the dates 'about then' type thing, or are they set in stone...
oh and are any V.I.P. events?
that is if you can confirm/deny that for us, otherwise 'no comment' will suffice.

As icemanix said we're in talks with two other major venues which should be excellent home-away-from-homes, or maybe even new homes.
"The House of WALAN". Has a nice ring to it doesn't it...

The building is riddled with asbestos and hasn't been used in years. If you're talking about the venue being built next door, that's one place we're looking at

Yeah, which is kinda why I am pushing a new venue. TAFE are and have been awesome in terms of co-operating, but in my mind, there is a lack of the old WALAN atmosphere (think back to CLC madness). I miss my crazy WALANs

it just feels more awesome and more like a real lan at the larger venues... I understand completely how much easier it is to pack up after tafe compared to places like Herb Graham but the experience is just so much more satisfying

That's not old WALAN. You have to go back to FPT at the very, very least.

Nah I was around for Challenge, when it was still officially UWALAN. Not UWA Undercroft though. WALAN still kinda had the old feel during FPT but lost if forever after that.

Yeah the name change to WALAN happened while we were at FPT, just as I was becoming admin I think.
Challenge Arena 1 makes you oldschool, but not as oldschool as Arena 2 *dances*
*hopes nobody comes on to claim undercroft*
