A huge thanks to all those who made it to WALAN at Supanova!

It was great to see those who were there really keen to play games right through the evening and even into the wee hours of the morning. On behalf of the team here at WALAN we'd like to say a huge thanks to our sponsors Thermaltake, Anyware Computer Accessories, Cyber Snipa, Crucial Memory, TP-Link, Logitech and especially Direct Fusion Technologies!

Photo's will be posted shortly and please leave any feedback or suggestions on what you would like to see at our next events.

Hope you had a great weekend at Supanova and we'll see you at our next event!

Also, thanks to those who stayed and helped us pack up - I know most of the admins were rather tired so it was great of you to help out. Much S2!

Great LAN Party, hope lots of people got a few files from me (I think I shared close to a tb or so at the end, not bad for 30 people on DC, sharing to like 15 at once).

    I don't remember writing that.

this lacking turnout is probably due to being run alongside Supanova.

Don't get me wrong, at walan you don't have to worry about people nicking your stuff and the admin crew do their best to make sure nothing does, but alongside something like supanova where we can have people looking around it's pretty easy for someone to take something (especially flashdrives). Hell, if they do it right they could probably swipe a laptop.
At something like the joondalup lans it's just more secure, and it feels more secure too.

I would've been there but no one I knew was going

When you kill 6 people in Unreal Tournament 3 it's "Monster kill", In Quake III it's "Excellent", in Counter-Strike Source it's "Kicked by console".

No. The reason fuck all people went to WALAN is because you are all emo faggot pokemans.

That is all.

[EDIT: No, that's not why.]

Thanks for the feedback, I wasn't aware there were any concerns with security at the SupaNova event. In terms of the LAN area itself, it's sectioned off with the same level of security (single entry/exit point, barcodes/wristbands, WALAN staff, etc) - so I'm dissapointed to hear that you feel less secure. I know that at the last event we had one or two spectators go around the event, however the problem was rectified and as far as I am aware nothing was stolen.

The last incident of theft at a WALAN event that I can recall is a mobile phone about four years ago, and an entire computer another two years before that (which is what caused the current security steps to be put into place). Please drop me an email or phonecall if you're aware of something that I am not - after all, we can't do anything about it if we don't know about it.

Thanks again for the feedback though, please let me know if there are any other concerns you have.

What are you talking about. The care is overflowing (for people who aren't pokemans).
